MVP Workshop is a 1-week full-time workshop that typically takes place in July of every year. The workshop provides volunteers the opportunity to assist with a GA department project on a 1-week basis. Short training may also be provided as necessary. Full-time, in-person attendance is expected.
The workshop is open to all members who are 18 or older. Working professionals, students, and anyone with a heart to serve are encouraged to apply. Underage youths may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The workshop and project details are usually announced in March of every year.
2026 MVP Workshop Projects [Newly added as of March 2026]
Evangelical Basic Beliefs Video (Evangelical Department): Volunteers will create a short (under 5 minutes) video that clearly explains one of our basic beliefs in a way that is engaging and understandable even for children. Using creative approaches such as stop-motion photography, animation, and visual storytelling, the project will focus on presenting biblical teachings in a simple, accurate, and compelling way. Open to those interested in video production, storytelling, design, or creative media.
RE Artwork (Pastoral Department): Volunteers will collaborate on creating artwork that illustrates foundational Bible stories for young learners (K–E1 level). The workshop will focus on developing content that is biblically sound, while remaining informative and engaging for teachers to use in the classroom. Open to artists with prior experience in digital art programs (e.g. Procreate, Photoshop, Clip Studio, Krita, or similar tools).
Lyric Video Production (Pastoral Department): This project involves creating lyric videos for Memory Verse Songs (MVS) to help RE students memorize and internalize Scripture through synchronized visual and auditory repetition. The final deliverables will serve as multimedia tools for both RE classes and at-home reviews. Volunteers will learn how to use Canva to create the visuals and DaVinci Resolve to create these MVS lyric videos.
Fellowship Games (Pastoral Department): Ministry volunteers will develop a new board game that began during a prior MVP Workshop. The project already has a foundational idea and structure but will still have room for creative input. Since this project encompasses all aspects of creating a board game, all skills and talents can be utilized to serve, even if the volunteers were not in this group in any of the prior years.
Content Curation (Literary Ministry Department): As media play an increasingly integral role in today's life, ministry volunteers are needed to help curate content for our various digital platforms to share and encourage one another with God's word. Volunteers will learn how to create Facebook/Instagram posts and reels with materials from the eLibrary, generate descriptions and hashtags for our YouTube videos, and/or develop podcast episodes.
Graphic/User Experience Design (Literary Ministry Department): Ministry volunteers will be exposed to the TJC identity guidelines, user experience design, and common design software (e.g. Canva) used in media ministry. Volunteers will assist in ongoing design projects such as promotionals, stock media, and article layout.
